The jail and prison population has increased dramatically due to the rise of incarceration of women. Domestic violence, sexual abuse, poverty & drug use in the household, play major roles that may incite criminal activities for these women that lead to charges & arrests. The jail/prison system is not designed for women, so they live w/a defeated sense of purpose.
Women of Substance provides hope to seek a better way of life by offering a road map for success. Once accepted and entered into the program, the individual will be given a structure guidelines of commitment. To lead towards been self sufficient.
To empower & strengthen women during incarceration & upon release. The organization takes a holistic approach to address the physical, social, emotional & spiritual wellbeing of the whole individual during the time of incarceration or release of the individual, through various assistance programs.
To show that the Lord God thinks about you & will bring you help from the sanctuary. He’ll deliver you from the pit of despair & hopelessness into a trusted guideline so that your spirit will be renewed & a firm foundation will be set to obtain a better way of life.
